First Christian Church of New Castle

New Castle, Ind.

Historic Preservation

PROJECT CATEGORIES

The cornerstone for First Christian Church of New Castle was laid in 1956 and the building was dedicated in 1959, by a congregation with roots in Henry County since 1833. Their building has been carefully cared for and maintained, retaining many of its original features. As the building approached its 70th year, Revivalist assisted the Church in an assessment to understand the existing condition of the building and site and to provide a foundation for future improvements and possible renovations as the Church adapts to meet the changing needs of a 21st-century congregation and an aging building.

Funding for this project was graciously provided by a planning grant through the Sacred Places Indiana program of Indiana Landmarks, supported by funding from the Lilly Endowment. Revivalist was delighted to partner with our engineering consultants, Lynch, Harrison & Brumleve, and NEO Engineers.
